Description

Cragganmore distillery was founded in 1869 by John Smith, and it is located in the village of Ballindalloch, Banffshire, Scotland. The name Cragganmore, translated from Gaelic means “big rock”. It is one of the most well known Speyside distilleries, making several of the world’s best whiskys and winning multiple awards.

Cragganmore Distillers Edition is a spectacular limited edition malt, aged for about 13 years in American oak, and then filled in Sandeman‚Äôs Ruby port pipes for 6 to 18 months to finish. Only about 300 barrels are filled each year. The result- a very interesting, and quite unique port finish whisky, that you just don’t see very often. Our only grievance is that it is bottled at 80 proof, otherwise we would make you beg us to sell it to you!

NOSE: Wood, licorice, plums, vanilla.

PALATE: Red wine, balsamic vinegar, sweetness, cherry, chocolate.

FINISH: Dry, notes of nutmeg, anise, and grape skins.

Final note: We probably are going to make you beg us to sell it to you!
