Riesling

Riesling is a white wine grape varietal that originated in the Rhine region in Germany. It is mostly grown in Germany and France (in the region of Alsace), but it is steadily gaining popularity in other countries like Austria, Italy, New Zealand, USA, Canada and South Africa. Riesling is best grown in colder climates and it is very reflective of the terroir, usually displaying flowery and perfumed aromas. Riesling wines can be dry, semi-sweet, sweet and sparkling, and can be paired well with the variety of foods, like fish, pork, spicy Asian and Thai cuisine, deserts or salads.
