Description
Notes: 1800 Anejo is aged (rested) in primarily in French oak with a small amount of American oak for up to 3 years. It is made from 100% agave. This is the higher end version, the others being 1800 Silver and 1800 Reposado.
Appearance: Deep copper/amber, leaves even coat on swirling.
First Impression: Not as aromatic as some, but much more complex than its younger siblings. Toasted cocoanut, marzipan (almond paste), vanilla (from the oak), dried orange peel, somewhat of a dry potpouri smell, hint of sea salt.
Taste: Spicy, woody, peppery, slightly thick, waxy mouth feel, dry finish.
Drinks: Margaritas of course, and Tequila Sunrises. Wood in this is a love it or hate it proposition- it can be overwhelmed by to much mixer so use a light hand.
