Description

High in the hills above Dry Creek, the Kemp Vineyard enjoys cool nights that keeps our Zinfandel more balanced and elegant than many of its brethren from the valley floor. Medium purple in color with a garnet rim, Adobe Road Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2009 has a nose of black raspberry, ginger and sweet spices like clove and nutmeg. The mouthfeel is voluptuous with a creamy texture and a structure of chewy tannins and persistent acidity. It delivers black cherry, tar, and plenty of fresh black pepper to your taste buds and builds to a crescendo during the long finish. Easily approachable now this wine is fairly versatile but will pair especially well with something spicy and tomato-based like penne all’Arrabbiata or a fat slab of ribs smothered in BBQ sauce.

“Ripe and smoky, with cherry pie and pepper aromas that follow through to zesty raspberry and licorice flavors. Drink now through 2016. 800 cases made.” -Wine Spectator. 88 points.
