Description
Amrut is the first Indian whisky distillery, it was established in 1948 and is located in Bangalore, India. Amrut can be translated as elixir or water of life.
Amrut Fusion is distilled from 2 types or barley: grown at the foot of Himalayas and peated barley imported from Scotland. The barley is mashed and distilled individually in small quantities, and aged separately in oak barrels. After the barrels reached the maturity, they are married together in ex-bourbon casks, and then bottled at 50% alc/vol. Also, big thanks to Amrut for not chill-filtering this whisky!
This expression won numerous awards, including “The Whisky Of The Year” in 2011 by Malt Advocate, “Third Finest Whisky In The World” by Jim Murray in 2010.
