Ardbeg Ten Single Malt Scotch Whisky

$54.99

Description

Ardbeg Distillery is located on the south coast of the island of Islay and has been producing whisky since 1798. Ardbeg is considered to be one of the most heavily peated whiskys in the world, and has almost a cult following among its fans.

Ardbeg Ten Years Old is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all. Yet it does not flaunt the peat; rather it gives way to the natural sweetness of the malt to produce a whisky of perfect balance. Typically most whiskies are chill-filtered and reduced to a strength of 40% alc/vol. Ardbeg Ten Years Old, however, is non chill-filtered and has a strength of 46% alc/vol, thus retaining maximum flavor, at the same time giving more body and added depth. It’s whisky with none of the goodness taken out!

NOSE: Smoke, peat, some citrus peeks through with a hint of sweetness behind the smoke, but dry overall.

PALATE: Peat and smoke, slightly oily, some sweetness shows through the smoke.

FINISH: The sweetness fades to a drier finish and full body. Long, dry finish as the smoke leaves.

Final note: If whisky got any better, it would give you special powers so you could fight crime, would heal your wounds, or would make you invisible… Although, after drinking a bottle of this stuff, our tech admin disappeared for the whole 2 weeks, nowhere to be found, which resulted in thousands of dollars in damages, 3 dead sheep, and a story never to be repeated again… Anyway, this bottle should be a centerpiece of any half way decent liquor cabinet!
