Description

Black Dirt takes its name from the dark, fertile soil left by an ancient glacial lake that once covered Thousands of acres of upstate New York. Perfectly suited for growing crops such as corn, this Black Dirt has never been used for Bourbon production- until now.

Black Dirt is comprised of 80% Black Dirt grown corn, 12% Malted Barley, and 8% Rye. It has a very subtle light popcorn or cereal aroma along with the traditional oak and some sweet vanilla. It is a thin spirit, not too syrupy. The taste is all at the back of the mouth until about the third or fourth wave of flavor finally makes it to the front as it continues to linger. It finishes with notes of oak, vanilla, caramel, and spiciness.
