Description

Connemara single malt is produced by the Cooley distillery, founded in 1987, and located in on the Cooley Peninsula in County Louth, Ireland. The distillery also produces Tyrconnell single malt whiskey, Greenore single grain whiskey, as well as Kilbeggan blended whiskey.

Connemara 12yr is the only peated Irish whiskey on the market. Unlike other Irish whiskeys it is double distilled, not triple distilled, as the folks at Cooley believe that the third distillation removes flavors from the spirit. It is aged in ex-bourbon casks for 12 years, bottled at 40% alc/vol.

NOSE: Fresh, light, oily peat, lemon zest, notes of fresh fruit.
