Description

Convalmore was a Speyside distillery, founded in 1893 and closed in 1985. Currently the distillery buildings are owned by William Grant & Sons and are used to warehouse Glenfiddich and Balvenie whiskies, although Diageo owns the rights to the brand name.

Convalmore 36yr was distilled in 1977, matured for 36 years in refill European oak casks, and bottled in 2013 at natural cask strength of 58% alc/vol. Limited release of only 2,680 bottles.

NOSE: Rich, fruit sweetness, honey, dried herbs, wood spice.

PALATE: Full, oily, oak, leather, red fruit, spice.

FINISH: Long, soft oak notes, touch of spice and apples.
