Description

Douglas Laing Big Peat, a creation originally crafted by Tad Dorda, the proprietor of Chopin Vodka, for his own personal enjoyment, was shared with the world after an introduction to it on a chilly night in Poland. The blend consists of Small Batch bottlings, unchill filtered malts comprising a mixture of Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila, and Port Ellen, alongside a selection of undisclosed Douglas Laing peated distillates.

The nose exhibits notes of citrus, smoke, and rubber, with traces of ash, salt, pepper, soil, and peat, accompanied by a touch of leather, brine, chocolate, natural caramel, iodine, and a faint presence of Lapsang Souchong tea, all contributing to an impeccable balance. On the palate, the whisky offers a combination of citric and smoky elements. The finish leaves a lasting impression with a peppery punch, followed by salt licorice and a touch of lime zest.
