Ferrer Miranda Amor de Madre Crianza Res

Categories: ,

Over its 150-year wine history, the Ferrer family has established deep roots in some of Spain’s most celebrated winemaking regions: Rías Baixas, Ribera del Duero, and Rioja. Amor de Madre – translating as “Mother’s Love is a Tempranillo and Graciano blend is aged in French and American oak 36 months prior to release, giving aromas of vanilla, cocoa, and spices. Well-integrated tannins give way to a powerful, balanced, and elegant finish.

Tempranillo harvest begins mid-September in the Rioja Alavesa. A week later, the Graciano is harvested. Both varieties are hand harvested and carry out their alcoholic fermentation in controlled temperatures between 78-80F with pump-over and delestages necessary to obtain the structure of a reserve wine. The malolactic fermentation is carried out during the month of November with selected yeast. The varietals then continue their separate fermentation with French and American oak aging for 12 months. The top quality barrels are selected for blending, clarification and filtration. Then the wine rests in the bottle for at least 24 months, achieving greater persistence and elegance.

COLOR: In the glass it displays a cherry red color with flashes of garnet.
AROMA: Predominant aromas are of vanilla, cocoa and spices from oak.
PALATE: Rounded tannins, balanced and elegant. The oaky notes are more subtle than on the nose and are very well integrated. Medium in length with a good ripe fruit finish.
