Description
The 18-year-old is GlenDronach’s third core range expression, now renamed as Allardice. Named after James Allardice, the founder of the distillery. This single malt is non-chill filtered and retains its natural color, which is very dark.
The nose is dominated by heavily pronounced sherry notes, accompanied by a subtle trace of aged rum, featuring pineapple and brown sugar undertones. The palate evokes the flavors of Christmas cake, rum, and chocolate-coated hazelnuts, along with hints of runny honey and Sauternes. The finish brings forth the freshness of blackcurrant and blueberry pancakes drizzled generously with maple syrup.
