Description

Gordon & MacPhail are one of the biggest and oldest independent bottlers in Scotland, and have been a family run business since 1895. They source the best barrels on the market to age the spirit from various distilleries, and all of their offerings are of tremendous quality, never chill-filtered and no caramel color added. They are also owners of the Benromach distillery – the smallest distillery in Speyside, but one that is famous for producing one of the best artisan single malt Scotch whiskys.

This Glenlivet 21yr was aged in the refill sherry and bourbon casks for 21 years, un chill-filtered, and bottled at 43% alc/vol. This is a beautiful expression of older Glenlivet, and what is most notable about this bottling is the original distillery label from the 1920s, which pays homage to George and J. Smith, the founders of the Glenlivet distillery. G&M payed quite a lofty sum of money to own the rights to the label, but it is surely a great investment in a beautiful piece of Scotch history.
