Description

Glenrothes distillery was founded in 1878 and is located in the Speyside region of Scotland in the town of Rothes. Glenrothes single malts do not have an age statement on the bottle, instead they are bottled as vintages, when the master distiller decides that the whisky has reached its peak in the barrels. Therefore every vintage is finite and unrepeatable.

The Glenrothes 1995 was a fist ever vintage to be laid down with the intent to be bottled as a Glenrothes (a portion of the whisky from the Glenrothes distillery is used in the blends such as Cutty Sark). It was distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2013, so it makes it a 18 year old single malt. About 30% was matured in first fill American sherry oak, Spanish sherry oak, and the rest refill bourbon casks. Bottled at 43% alc/vol.
