Highland Park’s Viking Heart single malt is a delightful combination of richness and complexity. This 15-year-old expression is matured in carefully selected sherry-seasoned European oak casks to bring forth warm, spicy elements, complemented by sherry-seasoned American oak casks that contribute a sweet vanilla balance. A careful addition of a few refill casks softens and refines the flavors. Bottled at 44% ABV, this whisky lets the vibrant fruitiness and distinctive heathery peat smoke shine through.

Viking Heart begins with opulent, spicy aromas reminiscent of crème brûlée, heather honey, and crumbled cinnamon, followed by intense fruity notes like fresh pineapple paired with sun-kissed lemon zest. Subtle hints of warm, freshly-baked sponge cake and toasted cinnamon shards emerge, all wrapped in an aromatic embrace of peat smoke, while citrus and vanilla notes linger harmoniously.

Inspired by historical practices, the choice of a ceramic decanter draws from the past when whisky was stored in earthenware vessels. Working alongside Wade Ceramics, established in 1810 in Stoke-on-Trent, England, Highland Park recreated this tradition using lead-free porcelain. The decanter, both internally and externally glazed, features the emblematic lion and serpent design found on many Highland Park glass bottles. The decanter’s back bears a heart motif that captures the spirit of the whisky’s name.
