Jefferson‚Äôs is a whiskey blending company, producing a collection¬†of bourbons made in ridiculously small batches, which¬†was founded in 1997¬†by Trey Zoeller and his father Chet, a famed bourbon author and¬†historian. They their whiskeys from different distilleries and then age them and blend them together to a certain taste profile. Jefferson’s is known for producing very limited and sought after unique bourbons, which are famous for their exceptional quality.

Jefferson’s Reserve Very Old Groth Cask Finish is the newest very limited addition to the line up, it was matured in the newly charred barrels and then finished for additional 9 months in French Oak barrels that has previously held Groth Cabernet Sauvignon. The result is a very well balanced experimental bourbon, pushing the boundaries of the category. Bottled at 45.1% alc/vol.

NOSE: Gentle, caramel, tofee, dark fruit.

PALATE: Oak, tobacco, spice, tannin, dried fruit.

FINISH: Long, drying, spice, a touch of corn sweetness.
