Kalembu Mamajuana was originally used by the native Tainos as a herbal tea and later modified to perfection by adding rum, Kalembu Mamajuana is believed to be a cure all and a treasure of Dominican Republic. The product brings a golden color that looks, acts and tastes much in the liking of a Drambuie by comparison. However, instead of a Scotch base it’s a rum base but brings the honey and spices along for the ride. I found Kalembu Mamajuana to be more on the sweeter side with much less in the way of a “red wine” profile. Besides being a cure-all Mamajuana is believed to have aphrodisiac effects claimed by male and female drinkers.
