Description
The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 and is located in Craigellachie, Moray, and is considered to be a Speyside distillery. Macallan is one of the best selling single malts in the world, alongside Glenlivet and Glenfiddich.
The Macallan 30yr is a rare older expression of this sherried whisky, which was matured for 30 years in ex-sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. Comes in a blue wooden gift box, bottled at 43% alc/vol.
NOSE: Sherry, spice, orange peel, mixed fruit basket.
PALATE: Rich, sherry sweetness, oak, honey, crushed grapes, clack tea, pepper, old leather.
FINISH: Long, mixed fruit, coffee, dark chocolate.
Final note: A solid, mature example of older Macallan. Limited availability.
