Matanzas Creek Sonoma County Chardonnay 2015
Matanzas Creek Sonoma Ciunty Chardonnay is a bright straw yellow in color which, expresses aromas of golden delicious apple, candied Meyer lemon, grilled peaches, ginger snaps, pineapple and warm Panettone. Touches of smoke and chamomile blossoms also emerge. The wine is unctuous and enveloping on the palate, with balanced acidity and a clear savory mouthfeel.
Naturally defined by the three mountain peaks that envelop it, Bennett Valley existed for many years in quiet obscurity Рbountifully sustaining an agricultural community that had all but forgotten the valley’s pre-prohibition viticultural roots. It wasn’t until 1977 with the founding of Matanzas Creek Winery that the area’s winemaking potential was once again unearthed.
