Description

Navazos-Palazzi, Overseas Malt Whiskey

This whisky began its life as a single malt from one of Inver House Distillers single malt producers. It is hard to pinpoint but we are guessing Balblair, maybe Old Pulteney. After three years in Scotland, the whisky was shipped to Spain where it matured for another four years in a Palo Coratdo sherry cask most likely from Valdespino. This single cask Bota #12, was bottled at cask strength with a total yield of 900 bottles for the world. The profile of the whisky is still very malt driven at its core but it swings dramatically to sherry and back again like an entrancing drawn out tennis volley. Ultimately the whisky comes together to form something truly compelling with notes that include butterscotch, citrus pith, white currants, roasted salted peanuts, pecan pie, white chocolate and nutmeg.
