New Holland Zeppelin Bend Straight Whiskey

A branch of New Holland Brewing Company, New Holland Artisan Spirits was founded in 2006 with the mission of creating small-batch, carefully crafted distilled spirits. Their distilling and aging methods are based on the techniques and philosophies developed by New Holland’s experience as craft brewers. From classic London dry gins to innovative beer-inspired whiskies, New Holland’s spirits represent the finest traditions of craft distilling.

Established in 1997, NHBC has grown from a scrappy two-man start-up to a thriving regional microbrewery, recognized for its creativity and artistry. In 2005, NHBC excitedly announced the launch of New Holland Artisan Spirits, the brewery’s line of spirits produced in the company’s new micro distillery. A straight-malt whiskey, it begins with a brewer’s mash coaxing sugars from malted barley into a liquid wash. This wash is twice distilled and aged in new American oak with a heavy char.

NOSE: On the nose you get a deep, dark cocoa, malt, vanilla extract, baking spices, mellow graininess and a splash of orange and cherry

PALATE: The palate is full bodied with lots of charred wood spice, more of that rich chocolate and vanilla, a hint of nuttiness

FINISH: A sharp, dusty finish
