Oban Distillery is located on the west coast of Scotland, in the port of Oban. It is one of the very few distilleries that was built before the actual town appeared. It is one of the smallest distilleries in Scotland, having only two pot stills. Even though Oban is considered to be a Highland distillery, the flavor profile of it’s whiskys falls between dry and smoky Islay malts and lighter, sweeter whiskys of the Highlands. The distillery is now owned by Diageo, and most of this single malt is used for the blended scotch whiskies, such as Johnnie Walker Black.
Oban 14yr is the core offering from the distillery, and it is a very well structured, rich single malt, a must try for any single malt drinker. Bottled at 43% alc/vol.
