Description
Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve 15yr is a younger version of the famous 20 year old Pappy Van Winkle Family Reserve bourbon, which is crafted according to the unique recipe and bottled at 107 proof. Up to the spring of 2011 all releases of this bourbon were crafted at Stitzel-Weller distillery, and set aside to supply the market, since the distillery closed about 20 years ago. Starting from the fall of 2011 the distillate for this whiskey is coming from the Buffalo Trace distillery.
NOSE: Burnt maple sugar, caramel, vanilla; lots of bass notes from the wood.
PALATE: Notes of oak, toffee, vanilla, burnt sugar and caramel.
FINISH: Long, notes of burnt sugar, cinnamon, and oak.
