Description

Rosebank was a Lowland distillery, founded in 1798. It was considered to be one of the premier Lowland distilleries, until it was mothballed in 1993. In 2002 the buildings and equipment were sold off, but Diageo still owns the trademark rights and still releases limited bottlings of this whisky.

Rosebank 21yr was distilled in 1992, one year before the distillery was mothballed, aged for 21 years in refill American oak casks, and bottled in 2014 at natural cask strength of 53.3% alc/vol. Limited release of 4,530 bottles.

NOSE: Rich, floral, citrus, gentle spice, maltiness.

PALATE: Delicate, floral notes, meadow freshness, grapefruit, marshmallow.

FINISH: Long, drying, oak, a hint of spice.
