Description

Señorio de Val Azul Fabio 2008

The flagship of the estate is the 2008 Fabio cuvee, a blend of 55% Syrah, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Tempranillo aged in new French oak for 14 months. It displays considerably more weight and complexity than the Val Azul bottlings. Inviting aromas of Asian spices, sandalwood, incense, violets, blueberry, and blackberry titillate the nose while pointing to a smooth-textured, suave wine with plenty of concentration, impeccable balance, and a lengthy, pure finish. It has the stuffing to evolve for 2–3 years at which time it is likely to display greater nuance. It should provide enjoyment through 2020.
