Speyburn distillery was founded in 1897 and is located on the Northern edge of the town Rothes in the Speyside region of Scotland. The distillery is famous for its picturesque location and the classic pagoda ventilator. Speyburn single malt whisky is renowned for its great quality and flavor, and it is one of the best-selling single malts in the US.
Speyburn 10yr is the classic offering from the distillery. It is the winner of the gold medal at the 2006 San Francisco International Spirits Competition, as a beautifully balanced and well-crafted single malt, one of the best value single malts on the market. It’s also a very good introductory malt and everyday dram.
The nose offers a fresh and zesty character, with notes of sugared orange peels, herbal hints, wood shavings, and spearmint leaves. On the palate, it presents a medium body with cereal sweetness, herbal elements, and wood shavings. The finish is long and malty, highlighted by a distinct barley note.
