Description
Balvenie distillery is located in the Speyside region, right next door to the Glenfiddich distillery, and has been producing excellent malts since 1893. Balvenie is one of the few distilleries that happen to have their own malt floors, and grow their own barley on the adjoining lands.
The Balvenie 15yr Single Barrel Sherry Cask is the first Balvenie matured in sherry casks for the whole time of the maturation. It is a single cask offering with hand numbered bottles, and about 650 bottled drawn from any single cask. Bottled at 47.8%alc/vol., non chill-filtered, and pretty natural color by the looks of it, but we could not find it stated anywhere on the package.
NOSE: Candied fruit, almonds, toffee, green apple.
PALATE: Dried fruit, toasted oak, milk chocolate, brown sugar.
FINISH: Medium, vanilla, oak, fruit.
