The Glenlivet is a famous Speyside distillery, founded in 1824 and located near Ballindalloch in Banffshire, Scotland, and currently owned by Pernod Richard. The Glenlivet single malt is one of the most known whiskys in the world and is the best selling Scotch in the US.
The Glenlivet 12yr French Oak Finish is a limited edition variation of the iconic Glenlivet 12 year old single malt, matured for a period of time in new Limousin oak casks. Since it is stated on the package that it is “finished” in french oak, that indicates that the maturation time is less than 2 years, more likely around 6 months. Bottled at 40% alc/vol.
NOSE: Light, sweet caramel, with a hint of wood spice.
PALATE: Rich, oak, leather, spice.
FINISH: Medium, drying.
