The Glenlivet is a famous Speyside distillery, founded in 1824 and located near Ballindalloch in Banffshire, Scotland, and currently owned by Pernod Richard. The Glenlivet single malt is one of the most known whiskies in the world and is the best-selling Scotch in the US.
The Glenlivet 12yr French Oak Finish is a limited edition variation of the iconic Glenlivet 12-year-old single malt, matured for a period of time in new Limousin oak casks. Since it is stated on the package that it is “finished” in French oak, that indicates that the maturation time is less than two years, more likely around six months. Bottled at 40% alc/vol.
The nose offers a light, sweet caramel aroma with a subtle hint of wood spice. On the palate, you’ll discover a rich profile of oak, leather, and spice. The finish is medium in length and drying.
