Usquaebach (Oos: Ke: Bah) translates as “Water of Life” in Scottish Gaelic and is the origin of the modern-day word “whisky.” The brand was established in 1877, and today Usquaebach is handcrafted by a distinguished family-owned house specialized in the art of whisky blending.

Dedicated to tradition, quality & craft, Usquaebach’s renowned Master Blender selects the finest single malts and aged grain whiskies from the most reputable distillers in the Scottish Highlands. With his collection of hand-selected single malt casks, the Master Blender creates four unique scotch expressions offering a range of flavors, all with balance and complexity.

Usquaebach ‘Old-Rare’ Blended Scotch Whisky recipe dates back to the 1700s. This blend consists of 41 carefully selected single malts from the Scottish Highlands aged up to 20 years and two of the Highlands finest green whiskeys. Single malts make up 85% of this blend. Usquaebach’s porcelain flagon is a vestige of scotch whisky’s history, and the distinguished quality of Old-Rare has been recognized by connoisseurs and aficionados the world over.

Final note: An amazingly complex and versatile whisky, very satisfying for an experienced palate, and also very approachable for a beginner scotch drinker. Highly recommended!
